Heavy metal band STREAMER from Gavà in Catalonia were formed in 2013 out of the ashes of a band called Spleen Ideal. They played locally and recorded a two-track demo called »Time To Die« in 2014. This was followed by the »Broken Dreams« EP a year later. In 2017, STREAMER recorded their first full-length album »Now Or Never«, which led to a string of shows all over Spain as well a trip to the UK (playing at the “Grimm Up North Fest” in Bury, England). Unfortunately, the follow-up »Light Of Death« was released during the Covid period in 2020, so gigging was limited.
In September 2025, STREAMER entered Moontower Studios in the city of Terrassa to record their third album »Into The Void«, the first for High Roller Records. Javi Félez was the man behind the board.
“I would say it’s a classic heavy metal album with lots of different shades, textures and emotions,” is how bassist Cristian describes STREAMER’s brand-new effort »Into The Void«. “It’s got, both darkness and melancholy, and some really catchy tunes.”
Not so much influenced by classic Spanish acts like Baron Rojo, Angeles Del Infierno, Panzer and Obus, STREAMER belong to a new generation of Iberian heavy metal, with the likes of Löanshark, Crimson Storm, Witchtower, Iron Curtain, War Dogs, Rave In Fire and Chantrice beginning to receive more and more recognition.
One of the key songs on »Into The Void« is “The Day That Barchinona Died”. It shows a lot of NWOBHM influences, the galloping rhythms of Iron Maiden are omnipresent, but there are also traces of epic US Metal and early European power metal to be found, a really good mixture. “Thank you so much,” beams the bassist. “I think that’s a great way to describe it. After all, we like all those genres, so we feel happy when people see it that way.”
“Rock All Around”, on the other hand, is more of a rocky, feel-good tune, with the dual guitar crunch being one of STREAMER’s trademarks. “The idea was to write a sharp, direct and catchy song with that rock and roll spirit and attitude,” explains the four-stringer, “we can’t wait to play it live!”
All in all, »Into The Void« is a very diverse traditional heavy metal album by one of Spain’s most promising young bands.
