New vocalist Lenny Osterhus comments on behalf of the band: "The track 'Back to Decay' revolves around the pretty shitty notion of experiencing your own death time and again. Eventually, everything blurs in your head – memory, nightmare, and reality. Yet whatever you do, there seems to be no easy way out of this dreadful cycle."
CARNAL GHOUL are back with a vengeance. With their second album, "Feed the Vault", the German death metal band born out of a burning passion for brutal old school sounds is finally able to demonstrate the full force of their crushing art.
While the debut album was a remarkable creation under the influence of loss and sorrow, CARNAL GHOUL have worked very hard on improving every aspect of their own take on death metal. Songwriting, production, and a renewed focus on clearly defining their unique sound have resulted in a massive album. The blood-red cherry on top of this steel delicacy is the arrival of outstanding ENDSEEKER vocalist Lennart "Lenny" Osterhus who has permanently joined the fold.
CARNAL GHOUL owe their existence to a meeting of two kindred spirits at the Party.San Metal Open Air and an undisclosed amount of beer. Guitarist Daniel Jakobi, who has previously played in (or is still a member of) LAY DOWN ROTTEN, MILKING THE GOATMACHINE, and DEMONBREED, among others, struck up a passionate conversation with Stefan Hüskens aka Husky, who has drummed (or still drums) for DESASTER, SODOM, ASPHYX, and many more. When both professed their utter love for old school death metal in general and the classic Swedish sound in particular, the idea for a new band was born.
Of course, both musicians were busy with their bands and projects, but after just one year, the first four songs of CARNAL GHOUL were written and released as the 7" and MCD "The Grotesque Vault" in 2013. The line-up had been expanded by the recruitment of second guitarist Fernando Hermansa and bass player Johannes Pitz, who had played with Jakobi in several bands before. With vocalist Sven Groß, who had been in FLESHCRAWL among others, the band was finally completed and performed two legendary shows at Summer Breeze Open Air and Party.San Metal Open Air.
While working on their debut album, their friend and vocalist Sven Groß lost his battle with cancer in 2021. This left the band in a state of shock. After a period of mourning, CARNAL GHOUL decided to finish and release the debut album in his honor. Aided by several guest vocalists – including Dave Ingram, Martin van Drunen, Marc Grewe, Paul Speckmann, Leif Jensen, Felix Stass, Lenny Osterhus, and others – "Back from the Vault" was completed and came out in 2022. The album was met with much praise from fans and media alike.
CARNAL GHOUL needed time to recover from their loss, and after four years, the German death metal aficionados felt ready to begin a new chapter. Once Lenny Osterhus from compatriots and brothers in spirit ENDSEEKER joined to take over vocal duties, the last missing piece was found.
With "Feed the Vault", CARNAL GHOUL have left all obstacles behind that were thrown in their path. The German old school maniacs deliver a monstrous album of furious death metal combined with a knack for brutal hooks and cunning melodies. Prepare for impact!

Multi-instrumentalist Adam Luksetich formed DIRTY TRICKS in Chicago in 2020, before moving to Los Angeles. Inspired by the bands of the early 1980s, Adam sought to bring forth the sound of metal and rock blurring together, oozing up like steam from the streets of the Sunset Strip. To have some kind of audio calling card, Adam quickly recorded four songs and released them as a digital EP under the name of »Bright Lights, Big City« (it was later issued on cassette and CD as well). On this early release, DIRTY TRICKS was a true one-man show, with Adam writing, playing, and recording all instruments himself, including drums.
For the first album »Not Gonna Stop« DIRTY TRICKS have signed a deal with High Roller Records. Once again, as Adam explains, there was little outside help: “I recorded and produced everything on my own. All the guitars, bass, and vocals are recorded at home in my little closet studio. My live guitarists, Alex and Aaron, handled some of the solos and I went to Electrical Audio in Chicago and recorded all the drums for »Not Gonna Stop« in one day with my friend Taylor Hales, who is the studio manager there.”
»Not Gonna Stop« sounds like a pure, old school, feel-good hard rock/metal album with hints to early Def Leppard, Dokken and Guns N´ Roses. “Yes! I would say old school for sure,” agrees Adam. “I was listening to a lot of early 80s heavy metal at the time this record was coming together. Also, the production could probably be classified as ‘old school’ as well. It’s all pretty live and raw. And ‘feel-good’ makes sense to me as well! Not all these songs are feel-good lyrically, but I love a good catchy melody. I always wanted DIRTY TRICKS to be something where you could headbang but also sing along to.”
Asked about the meaning behind the album's simple title, Adam explains he'll never stop writing and playing music. “My earliest memories as a child are all music-based. I listen to all types of music, and that’s important here, I think. Especially if we’re talking about the track ‘Not Gonna Stop’. Which really was my attempt at making a hard rock version of Charlie Rich’s ‘Rollin’ With The Flow’. The line ‘I Still Love Rock ’n’ Roll’ is jacked straight from that Charlie Rich song.” For those that love old school heavy metal rock 'n' roll, from its very roots to the modern day, "Not Gonna Stop" compels all heads to bang and all fists to be raised high!

 Greek hi-tech metallers SACRAL RAGE are back with their most ambitious album to date!

Formed in 2011, SACRAL RAGE quickly emerged on the scene thanks to their unique sound and energetic live performances. Having released two albums (“Illusions in Infinite Void” in 2015 and “Beyond Celestial Echoes” in 2018), inspired by late ‘80s US metal, early ‘90s tech/prog, as well as bands like King Diamond, Annihilator and Rush, they bring their own distinct sound, all wrapped in a sci-fi concept that forms part of a larger story explored in their concept novella, Origins of UL.

The title of BONJOUR TRISTESSE’s latest album “Disaster Triumphant” is taken from this quote. Nathanael was heavily inspired by the “Dialectic of Enlightenment” by philosophers Max Horkheimer and Theodor W. Adorno. They highlighted the double-edged nature of the Enlightenment, which, on the one hand, reined in superstition and religion, but on the other hand, subjected humanity and the natural world to entirely new constraints through technological progress, industrial civilization, the myth of human supremacy and the consequences of mass society.
The album cover by Abismo Black Arts also references this ambivalence that shapes our reality and aptly illustrates the core ideas of the “Dialectic of Enlightenment” and “Disaster Triumphant” alike. A critique of this “enlightened” yet thoroughly life-denying and nature-destroying “civilized” world underlies most songs on “Disaster Triumphant”. Other topics covered in the lyrics include meditations on loss, grief, melancholy, interpersonal feelings and the wish to retreat from a world, that is sinking deeper into chaos day by day.

Since their earliest recordings ASSUMPTION have treated the genre less as a monolith set in stone than a space in which mass, duration and atmosphere can be manipulated. On "Paradox Of The Arrow" that process advances further, stretching the apparent distance between one moment and the next time itself dissipates into an altered abstraction.
ASSUMPTION’s immense low-end foundations remain, but the band’s heaviness is rarely a matter of density alone. Riffs unfurl geologically, like the convergent boundary to a subduction zone, before abruptly accelerating into passages of violent Death Metal, only to collapse again into long intervals of suspension, dissonant guitar resonance and spectral ambience. Guttural vocals emerge from deep within while drums alternately measure out enormous spaces and rupture them without warning. Melody appears in oblique fragments rather than conventional resolution, and psychedelic details flicker at the margins, where quiet stillness can feel as consequential as impact and the vibrations of beauty and dread dissolve into an amorphous shimmering light.
Taking its name from Zeno’s ancient paradox of motion; the proposition that an arrow in flight, observed at any single instant, is motionless; "Paradox of the Arrow" finds an apt philosophical analogue for ASSUMPTION’s music. These 6 tracks from the depths draw the listener through successive states of movement and inertia, collapsing the notion of linear time. Across its prolonged passages and sudden eruptions, the album continually distorts the sense of scale and duration. By the time the arrow reaches its mark, the path behind it feels far less certain than when it began.

STREAMER from Gavà in Catalonia were formed in 2013 out of the ashes of a band called Spleen Ideal. They played locally and recorded a two-track demo called "Time To Die" in 2014. This was followed by the "Broken Dreams" EP a year later. In 2017, STREAMER recorded their first full-length album "Now Or Never", which led to a string of shows all over Spain as well a trip to the UK (playing at the “Grimm Up North Fest” in Bury, England). Unfortunately, the follow-up "Light Of Death" was released during the Covid period in 2020, so gigging was limited. In September 2025, STREAMER entered Moontower Studios in the city of Terrassa to record their third album "Into The Void", the first for High Roller Records.

Emerging onto the scene in 2025 with their debut demo "0 - The Genesis", CRIMSON COVEN quickly established their signature sound under the fitting banner of 'Spell-forged Heavy Metal'. With their first two albums DREAM UNENDING transformed the familiar architecture of Death Doom into a place of their own making. A language where cavernous heaviness could coexist with progressive rock, ambient music, jazz-informed improvisation and a disarming emotional candor. On new album "Certain Uncertainties" that expression remains intact, but its gaze has shifted. Where previous records often seemed to reach upward and outward, this one comes back down to earth: leaner in construction, rougher around the edges and possessed of a distinctly nocturnal atmosphere. Call it 'Adult Contemporary Doom' perhaps; music of considerable weight that has nevertheless learned how much can be said by leaving certain things unsaid.
Recorded with fewer layers and a deliberately more immediate instrumental approach, "Certain Uncertainties" gives the individual performances room to breathe. Derrick Vella's guitars move through blues, jazz and progressive vocabulary with unusual freedom, at times carrying the open-ended character of American roots music into territory rarely encountered within Doom. Justin DeTore's drums are present throughout, lending the album a more physical momentum and helping its compositions arrive at their destinations with greater economy. Yet concision has not diminished DREAM UNENDING's taste for release: the opening and closing pieces in particular build toward enormous pressure points, while the spaces between allow Vella's playing to wander, react and occasionally remain imperfect. Each song operates as its own vignette; part desert reverie, part after-hours noir; with traces of Western landscape, dim rooms and empty roads running throughout the album.
That earthbound quality suits an album concerned, at its core, with instability and reconstruction. Written during a period in which Vella was rebuilding his own sense of confidence in risk-taking, "Certain Uncertainties" carries doubt within it without surrendering to despair. The bruised balladry of "I Carry Your Burden" (featuring guest vocals by Brendan Radigan), the improvisational openness of the title track and the album's uglier eruptions of Death Doom all belong to the same emotional terrain: beauty and discomfort allowed to occupy the same frame. If DREAM UNENDING's earlier work imagined another world beyond the limits of heavy music, "Certain Uncertainties" finds something equally strange in the one beneath our feet. A record of dry air, long shadows, unresolved questions and the stubborn impulse to keep moving through them.
