CLOVEN HOOF - New Abum "Heathen Cross" via High Roller Records - Lyric Video Premiere

CLOVEN HOOF have revealed the first single from their upcoming new album "Heathen Cross", set for release on May 31st 2024 via High Roller Records.

A lyric video for the song "Last Man Standing" can be checked out here: https://youtu.be/xs_pTtYpXLY

Midlands outfit CLOVEN HOOF must rate as one of the most legendary bands of the entire New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement. The origins of the group go back to the year 1979, when they first formed under the name of Nightstalker. In 1981, however, the band switched to their new moniker: CLOVEN HOOF.

Their brand new album "Heathen Cross" marks the return to High Roller Records. "We are back now where we belong", comments main man Lee Payne. "'Heathen Cross' is CLOVEN HOOF’s most dark and heavy album yet! It has the Satanic undertones of our debut album, but with the best vocalist the group has ever had. Personally speaking it is hands down my favourite CLOVEN HOOF album. We wanted to recapture the spirit and the supernatural majesty of the debut album. Talking to the fans we have given them what they wanted most, a return to the roots of the NWOBHM. They are going to love it!"

The bassist is indeed full of praise for the band’s new vocalist, a certain Harry "The Tyrant" Conklin: "Harry Conklin is a world-class vocalist. He is super dedicated and highly professional and we knew he would fit in the band seamlessly. His vocal performance on the new album raises the band to new heights, so I can’t wait for the fans to hear him. Harry is an astounding singer, he is so versatile. He can sing high, low and always with power and passion. He knows how to live and sell a song. Harry is like an actor telling a story, no one interprets my lyrics like Mr. Conklin. I can’t praise him enough. We should have worked together years ago."

Welcome to a journey into space itself in which its divinity is formed by progressive components and blackened chaos: SEAR BLISS' “Heavenly Down”. A galactic quest in which SEAR BLISS rewrites the rules of experimental metal is found within “Heavenly Down” and the trip is very exciting, believe us.

SEAR BLISS delivers their opus magnum after a 30 year long journey of epic darkness!

OCTOHAWK - Sophomore Album "Determinist" via Crime Records - Video Clip Premiere

Norway's progressive sludge masters OCTOHAWK are about to release the sequel to their highly acclaimed debut album "Animist".

The upcoming release, "Determinist", will be unleashed on June 7th 2024 via Crime Records on Digipak CD, Gatefold LP (limited) and digitally.

OCTOHAWK's sophomore album takes the listener out of the prehistoric world from "Animist" and into the current and future era of determinism: humanity has left the world of mysteries, wonders, and chance. In a reality where all is calculated, analyzed, and predetermined, humans thrive on scientific progress, but at what cost? If everything is certain, humans have deprived themselves of the illusion of free will and the wonders of life.

"Determinist" is a synopsis of the deterministic era, from the humble experimental beginnings to the complete coalescence with ever-flowing information. Each of the seven tracks represents the significant stages in this endeavor, from man on the ground to being a part of the eternal stream.

This will hit fans of The Ocean, Mastodon, and Igorr right in the face - with expanded diversity, heavier, and more of the good stuff!

COLDBORN - New Album "The Unwritten Pages of Death" via Final Sacrifice Records - New Track Premiere

Belgian Black Metal act COLDBORN has revealed the first track from the upcoming new album, “The Unwritten Pages of Death”, set for release on May 10th 2024 via Final Sacrifice Records.

You can listen to "Silenced is the Choir of Euphoria" here: https://youtu.be/gtzNgwi2bPs

Emerged from the rugged fields of Flanders (Belgium), COLDBORN is the brainchild and solo endeavor of Norgaath (also active in Enthroned, Nightbringer & Grimfaug) and brings black metal in which atmosphere and variation are key factors. After the debut full-length album “Lingering Voidwards”, 8 new hymns are presented on the second album aptly titled “The Unwritten Pages of Death”. During live performances Norgaath focuses exclusively on vocals, assisted by 4 talented live members. These shows, characterized by diversity and passion, immerse audiences in the magic of COLDBORN's atmospheric black metal. Notable performances include sharing the stage with acclaimed acts such as Watain, Satyricon, Taake, Ancient Rites, Djevel, Ondskapt, Kampfar, Tulus and Hell Militia to name but a few.

The new album is titled “The Unwritten Pages of Death” and as the album unfolds, so does the narrative of death's unwritten pages, each track a testament to the inevitability of oblivion. While firmly rooted in black metal, the album is full of variation ranging from fastpaced blasts to doom-like passages and everything in between. The riffs pay homage to the iconic black metal bands of the 90s that shaped the genre, all the while carving out their own distinct trajectory. To create that extra layer of atmosphere, the songs are adorned with evocative acoustic & lead guitars and subtle synths.

Tracklist:
1. Foreboding
2. Silenced is the Choir of Euphoria
3. Cold Void Rife
4. The Antechamber of Eternal Sleep
5. Harps of Death Chiming Reverberant

TERMINAL NATION - New Track Premiere - Sophomore Full-Length Album "Echoes Of The Devil’s Den" via 20 Buck Spin

US Deathers TERMINAL NATION have revealed a second song from their upcoming sophomore full-length "Echoes Of The Devil’s Den", set for release on May 3rd 2024 via 20 Buck Spin.

You can listen to "Merchants Of Bloodshed" (feat. Jesse Leach) at this location: https://youtu.be/g6wc0vsBaE0

"Echoes Of The Devil’s Den" was produced, engineered, and mixed by Ryan Bram at Homewrecker Recording Studio in Tuscon, Arizona and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audioseige. The artwork was created by Adam Burke (Eternal Champion, Acephalix, Creeping Death). Guest vocal appearances by Todd Jones (Nails), Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), Dwid Hellion (Integrity) and others.

Since releasing the first TERMINAL NATION album "Holocene Extinction" in 2020, the USA’s simmering divisions have only widened, factions hardened, compromise disintegrated. The band’s incendiary new album "Echoes Of The Devil’s Den" epitomizes that boiling rage, once again appearing on the eve of a recurring nightmare election cycle of fossilized 20th century relics.

The TERMINAL NATION battering ram has at its core outrageously heavy mid-paced riffing and bulldozing breakdowns, taken to new levels of extreme brutality, over which Stan Liszewski’s vocal venom radiates the seething anger of a population at wits end.

Yet beyond that punishing substructure TERMINAL NATION’s songwriting chops have evolved considerably as evidenced on songs like "Embers of Humanity" which injects an epic heavy metal flair within its balladry, building to stadium-esque crescend. On single "Merchants of Bloodshed", the band splice in anthemic, bordering on radio-friendly clean singing courtesy of Jesse Leach (Killswitch Engage), just one of many guest vocal appearances on the album.

Lyrically, throughout "Echoes of the Devil’s Den" the band lash out with both the scathing societal critique for which they’re well known and also a more intimately reflective narrative that draws upon some massive personal upheavals endured in the preceding years. Forged in the fires of tribulation, TERMINAL NATION’s "Echoes of the Devil’s Den" demolishes with the force of an erupting volcano, burning to ash the falsity of our age.

Tracklist:
01. Echoes Of The Devil's Den
02. Written By The Victor
03. The Spikes Under The Bridge
04. No Reform (New Age Slave Patrol)

HOUSE BY THE CEMETARY - Sophomore Album "The Mortuary Hauntings" via Pulverised Records - Track Premiere

Horror aficionados HOUSE BY THE CEMETARY are rousing the undead once again with their sophomore album "The Mortuary Hauntings".

With a tried-and-true formula of pummeling riffs and mid-paced Death Metal that throbs to herd a wall of zombies, Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, ex-Bone Gnawer, Massacre, etc) and Mike Hrubovcak (ex-Monstrosity, Azure Emote, ex-Vile, etc) cleverly disintegrate and reconstruct their love for Metal and old horror films; fortifying the two genres into an unwavering subculture hallmark but with a stylistic departure on their debut. “The Mortuary Hauntings” continues with the endearing worship of retro-Death Metal and the timeless devotion to cult horror-flicks.

ACOD - Samael Cover "Black Trip" revealed - New Abum "Versets Noirs" via Hammerheart Records

ACOD have revealed their cover version of Samael's "Black Trip", taken from the band's upcoming album "Versets Noirs" which will be out on April 26th via Hammerheart Records on CD, LP and digital!

Check out the lyric video at this location: https://youtu.be/Nmt8S4pl27E

Fred / ACOD comments: "In 1994, Swiss band Samael released one of the most influential albums in the black metal world. The dark, hard-hitting opening track on this masterpiece takes us back to those glory years. We wanted to pay tribute to these architects of the black kingdom."

Jerome adds: "'Ceremony of Opposites' had a significant impact on us, and the title fits perfectly with the theme of the occult journey you'll find in 'Versets Noirs'. It's interesting to do your own version of a track as important as the one you knew as a teenager. Many bands are content to cover most of the famous names, like Slayer etc... Our influences are broader, but mainly based on the period from the 80s to the 2000s."

Tracklist:
1. Habentis Maleficia
2. The Son of a God (The Heir of Divine Blood)
3. A Thousand Lives in a Second
4. May This World Burn
5. Black Trip (Samael cover)

ASPERNAMENTUM - Debut EP via Soulseller Records - Track Premiere

Soulseller Records proudly announces the debut release of Swedish Black Metal act ASPERNAMENTUM.

The EP entitled "Primal Judgement Manifesto", clocking in over 25 minutes, will be released on May 17th 2024 on MCD, MLP and digitally. It was recorded at Wing Studios in 2022 and mixed and mastered by Sverker Widgren.

ASPERNAMENTUM is the creation and vision of multi-instrumentalist D. Johansson. In a scene flooded with vague mindsets and a artificial approach to meaningful and pure Black Metal, ASPERNAMENTUM carves it’s own path fuelled by the true essence of Satanism. "Primal Judgement Manifesto" is the culmination of a seed planted years ago. It’s the first step and presentation of Aspernamentum and it signifies the core elements of the true spirit of black metal. Primal, simple and honest.

NADSVEST - Debut Full-Length Album via Soulseller Records - Track Premiere

Serbian Black Metal entity NADSVEST have announced their debut full-length album, "Slovo meseca i krvi", set for release on May 17th 2024 via their new label home Soulseller Records on CD, LP and digitally.

NADSVEST, comprised of Serbian native "S" (Gorgoroth) and New Zealander "A" (Barshesketh), is a hellish combination of the first, second-wave and bestial black metal scenes, with unhealthy doses of heavy metal and nods to Serbian folk music. Lyrical themes deal with the black arts through the lens of the darker aspects of Serbian folklore. Conceptually, “Slovo meseca i krvi” is an epic poem exploring the stages in the process of awakening the primal werewolf force in the warrior, the triumph of the spirit and the ultimate sacrifice of the flesh. The sound was forged in Sonorous Studio with the goal of evoking the noise of the tortured soul.

The first single "Vihori boja" is streaming now at this location: https://youtu.be/bL9auqYaYZ0

CRYPT SERMON - New Album "The Stygian Rose" via Dark Descent Records - Video Clip Premiere

Dark heavy metallers CRYPT SERMON unveil their bewitching new album, "The Stygian Rose", set for release on June 14th 2024 via Dark Descent Records on CD, LP, cassette and digital formats.

Featuring guitarist Steve Jansson (Daeva, Unrest), vocalist Brooks Wilson (Unrest), drummer Enrique Sagarnaga (Daeva, The Silver), guitarist Frank Chin (Daeva), bassist Matt Knox (Horrendous, The Silver), and keyboardist Tanner Anderson (Obsequiae, Majesties), the Philadelphia-based sextet parlayed their time away from the spotlight into a grander, more mysterious CRYPT SERMON. The interflow of doom and heavy metals underpins "The Stygian Rose", but these boundaries are effortlessly transcended. From the blistering solo salvo of "Glimmers in the Underworld" and the commanding rhythm of "Heavy is the Crown of Bone" to the evocative Near Eastern vibes of "Thunder (Perfect Mind)" and the intricate, masterful journey of the 11-minute title track, "The Stygian Rose" epitomizes the band's burgeoning musical and conceptual prowess.

CRYPT SERMON tracked "The Stygian Rose" with acclaimed producer Arthur Rizk (Blood Incantation, Cirith Ungol) and engineer Aidan Elias (Blood Incantation, Wayfarer) at Redwoods in Philadelphia. Although Rizk handled "Out of the Garden" (2015) and "The Ruins of Fading Light" (2019), the team captured the band's multi-genre chaplet in a new light this time. Singles "Glimmers in the Underworld," "Heavy is the Crown of Bone," and "Thunder (Perfect Mind)" are frighteningly effective in their [Neil] Kernon-esque production. At the same time, deep album tracks "Scrying Orb," "Down in the Hollow," and "The Stygian Rose" cast long, mysterious shadows. Rizk summoned from CRYPT SERMON the same big-stage sound producers Dave Jerden and Rick Rubin coaxed out of Alice in Chains and Trouble, respectively.

Adorned with captivating artwork and featuring an enchanting (yet dark) lyrical concept by Wilson, this is CRYPT SERMON’s level-up moment. Dive into "The Stygian Rose" and experience its rich rewards.
